April 17 COVID-19 Update: A message from our CEO

April 17, 2020

Hello team and happy Friday-

We have officially been working from home since March 19- meaning we are completing our forth (or more) week of self-isolation as a company. I know that it hasn’t been easy for any of us but we, as a company, are doing a tremendous job of keeping the wheels turning and maintaining the level of service our clients have come to expect from The Difference Card.

Even during this tough time, our membership numbers remain strong. Our claims turnaround time remains impressive at 2 business days and we are answering calls quickly and efficiently. We are grateful that The Difference Card continues to provide a valuable service for our clients and their employees.

While the Coronavirus continues to impact families, I want to make sure you are aware of the Families First Coronavirus Repose Act (FFCRA) for Employer Paid Leave. Under the FFCRA, an employee qualifies for paid sick time if the employee is unable to work (or unable to telework) due to the impacts of COVID-19. Our Marketing Director has put together a video explaining this policy and the requirements for paid leave. Please watch it and ask your supervisor if you have any questions: WATCH HERE.

Since the Governor of New York has extended the stay-at-home order until May 15th, our White Plains office will be closed until at least then. As we learn more and track the developments over the next few weeks, we will update you with our plan on when we plan to re-open the office. The health and safety of our employees is our number one priority, so until further notice, continue to shelter in place.

Stay safe and be well,

Gregg Lehman, CEO
